Grateful for influenza vaccines. That there IS such a thing! For the opportunity and privilege to receive it!! At zero cost!!! And barely say wait!!!! And that the hardworking nurses, though very busy, were cheerful and smiled!!!!!
A good day.

Father in law was recently put on hospice services and my husband's family has been great in receiving instruction and help in managing.
I don't always feel supported by my husband's family, as I am a hospice nurse.
Increased my confidence in my ability as a nurse and educator/advocate

It's hard to know when to comment on social media; you never know how others will respond. I voiced my concerns when someone posted a lot of personal information (as a way of introducing themselves to the group). Thankfully, when I cautioned the person that information such as date of birth could be used by hackers, they agreed and modified their post.
There wasn't a direct benefit to me. But I'm grateful that the person was open to feedback. They reminded me that we can still have reasonable interactions on social media.

I have a cold or a flu and had unsuccessfully tried to get to a testing centre. I got home, having organised an antigen testing kit with my local pharmacy. My neighbour offered to pick it up and bring it to my home. When she delivered it, the bag also contained two chocolate biscuits and a box of breakfast tea (a gift from her recent holiday). She refused to let me pay for it, saying she was glad to have the chance to do something for me.
It allowed me to self-isolate more effectively (I'd have had to go out, feeling unwell, possibly contagious, to the chemists to collect it myself). It allowed me to stay warm at home and rest. IT made me feel like I had a caring friend who was concerned for me and had my best interests at heart. It made me quite tearful. I felt loved.

I picked up some groceries and other items for my elderly neighbour when I was shopping.
Glad to be acknowledged and appreciated. Glad that my efforts were helpful and useful to her and committed to continuing with this helpfulness.

We sit up on Zoom and do our work together, keeping each other company and supporting one another in the work we are doing.
I got more work done and felt better about myself and my accomplishments....and I contributed to her well-being as well.

I spoke up and advocated for nurses on my unit and a coworker thanked me for doing it.
I appreciated that she took the time to email me because I wasn't feeling that good about. I was discouraged because I didn't feel like what I said was going to make a difference. I still don't know what the decision will be but I hope it made a difference.

We've not been able to use the furnace as the weather got colder--just wouldn't start. Yikes. After a couple of days fiddling with it and thinking it just wasn't working, this morning it kicked on just before getting out of bed. Just like that. Guess it wasn't ready for winter either. But it's working now, thank goodness!
I got up this morning to drive to my job.
I have a job that I like, thank you!
So I drive to my job in a cute little sports car that I got way below market and I love driving it.
How lucky is that? thank you!
The sky is blue and sunny and its a beautiful autumn day, thank you!
I met my colleague who was courteous and helpful and gave me the information I needed, thank you!
Just a reminder of what a grace feels like.
thank you.

The overnight doctor showed a lot of compassion and attentiveness when one of our long-term patients died the other night. She got the daughter on face time so that she could be with her mom in her last moments, and said a beautiful prayer in Spanish over FaceTime after she passed. She also asked us to take part in a group huddle afterwards to debrief and talk about our feelings.
It really reminded me of why I became a nurse, and all my favorite parts of my job: presence, compassion, witnessing and love.

Two colleagues today shared how I radiate positivity and smile etc. It made me feel so good.
Honestly, wonderful. I don't always feel positive and the fact two different people brought it up just made my day.
